On February 15th, 2020 the Rescon Basement Solutions family lost our beloved Dajia Brown, the oldest daughter of the company’s owner Chris Brown. Her passing was the unfortunate and painful result of struggling with substance abuse for many years. Dajia was only 26 when she lost her battle. Leaving behind two beautiful young daughters, Isabella and Brooklyn. Sadly, this story is all too familiar in the world we live in.

Since Dajia’s passing, Chris has been working on finding ways to help build awareness, raise funds and do more to honor the memory of his daughter. The goal of these efforts is the hope that it may help to prevent even just one family from having to share the same story. That is how and why “Dajia’s Van” was created. Chris decided that we would take one van in Rescon’s fleet of vehicles and make it “Dajia’s Van”. The mission and purpose of “Dajia’s Van” would be to bring attention to and help raise funds for people and families struggling with substance abuse.

Why is the van Pink? Well, as a young girl Dajia’s favorite color was always pink. Dajia’s room was pink. Her clothes or outfits always had to have something pink. On the day of her memorial service Dajia’s parent’s and siblings all wore something pink. To this day and every day since Dajia’s memorial service Chris has worn pair of pink socks as a way to remember his daughter at the start of every day. Therefore “Dajia’s Van” would have to be pink.

How can you help?  Dajia and her daughters received a tremendous amount of support from a program run by The Boston Medical Center called “Supporting Our Families through Addiction and Recovery” (SOFAR) clinic. The program and Dajia were highlighted in a Boston Globe article in January of 2018. The SOFAR clinic provides a level of support to Mother’s struggling with addiction that is greatly needed in our community. Please help by donating whatever you can to support these families. We have set up a fundraising page for “Dajia’s Van” through the Boston Medical Center. You can simply click on the donate now button below and help the SOFAR clinic continue their mission. ALL donations go directly to the Boston Medical Center.

“I just had a sump pump and drain system installed in my basement due to flooding. Liam and Joey showed up in the freezing cold and worked all day to get my sump installed to stop the water. When they came back to put in the perimeter drain they were very courteous, knowledgeable and professional . They answered all my questions and did an amazing job. Thanks Liam and Joey!!”
